Forum for Vocational Excellence 2024
Shaping the future of skills—live from Lyon.
From September 10–12, BuildSkills Academy joined the Forum for Vocational Excellence, held alongside the WorldSkills Competition 2024. The event brought together Europe’s most forward-thinking VET actors to explore what excellence in vocational education really means in a time of transition.
Why were we there?
Because the green and digital transitions demand more than ambition—they require action, alignment, and the right skills.
At the Forum, our team engaged in:
- Workshops on energy transition and sustainable cities, where we explored the evolving skillsets needed for climate-neutral construction and urban development
- Strategic dialogues on sustaining Centers of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs) and the future of micro-credentials as flexible, scalable tools for lifelong learning
- Synergy-building with other EU projects, identifying shared goals and opportunities for collaboration
These conversations weren’t just theoretical—they’re shaping how we train, certify, and empower the next generation of professionals in the construction ecosystem.
